John Allwood (Chairman) has spent over 30 years in the Media and Telecommunications Sectors and has been involved in many of the key events in the industry over that period. He has - rather uniquely - experience of both the UK and European markets in both Telecomms and Press.

With a financial background John has undertaken senior roles in both Executive and Financial positions. His early career saw him as part of the team responsible for the move of News International from Fleet Street to Wapping where he was heavily involved in both the financial aspects of the move and the changes to distribution in the late eighties.

John then spent two and a half years as Finance Director of Sky TV at the time of its launch before taking on a similar role at Microtel the forerunner to Orange. During the nineties he was Finance Director and ultimately Chief Executive of Mirror Group prior to its sale to Trinity.

He then returned to Orange responsible for its UK business as its customer base rose to over 13 million subscribers.

More recently he has spent time with Telegraph Media Group as COO helping in the modernisation of that business and as Interim CEO of the largest Danish newspaper publisher.
